The iPhone 8, released in September 2017, featured a durable all-glass and aluminum design, enabling a major new feature:
Qi wireless charging. It was powered by the innovative hexa-core Apple A11 Bionic chip, offering significant performance and energy efficiency improvements. The device maintained the 4.7-inch Retina HD display (1334×750 pixels) but added True Tone technology to adjust the display’s white balance to the ambient light. The camera was an improved 12-megapixel rear sensor with OIS and a wider ƒ/1.8 aperture, capable of 4K video recording at up to 60 fps. It also featured stereo speakers that were up to 25 percent louder than its predecessor, IP67 water and dust resistance, a Touch ID fingerprint sensor, and launched with iOS 11.
