The iPhone 6S, released in September 2015, maintained the 4.7-inch Retina HD display but introduced a key new feature:
3D Touch, which enabled pressure-sensitive inputs. Powered by the dual-core 64-bit Apple A9 chip and 2GB of RAM, it offered significant performance improvements over its predecessor. The camera system received a major upgrade to a 12-megapixel rear camera capable of 4K video recording at 30 fps, and a 5-megapixel FaceTime HD front camera with a “Retina Flash” feature that brightened the display for better selfies. It also included a faster second-generation Touch ID sensor, a more durable 7000 series aluminum chassis, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, and launched with iOS 9.
