Oppo R9s Plus, released in December 2016, is a high-end Android phablet serving as the larger, more powerful variant of the standard R9s model, with a focus on size, battery, and camera performance.
The device features a large 6.0-inch Full HD AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (~367 ppi density) protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is powered by a more powerful octa-core 1.95 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 processor with Adreno 510 GPU, paired with a significant 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage (ROM), which is expandable up to 256GB via a hybrid dual-SIM slot.
Like the R9s, the Plus model features identical high-resolution 16 MP cameras for both the rear (f/1.7 aperture, Sony IMX398 sensor, Dual PDAF, OIS) and the front-facing “selfie” camera (f/2.0 aperture), capable of 4K video recording. It runs on Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) with Oppo’s ColorOS 3.0 interface and is equipped with a substantially larger non-removable 4000 mAh Li-Po battery that supports Oppo’s proprietary VOOC Flash Charge technology for rapid charging. It also includes a fast, solid-state front-mounted fingerprint sensor and 4G LTE connectivity.
