The iPhone 4S, announced in October 2011, maintained the glass-and-stainless-steel design of its predecessor while introducing major internal upgrades and the voice assistant Siri
. It featured a 3.5-inch Retina display with 960×640 pixel resolution at 326 ppi. Powered by the dual-core Apple A5 chip and 512MB of RAM, it offered a significant performance boost. The camera saw an upgrade to an 8-megapixel rear sensor capable of 1080p HD video recording, along with a front VGA camera for FaceTime. The device supported Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS/GLONASS, and acted as a “world phone” supporting both GSM and CDMA networks. It launched with iOS 5 and was available in 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB storage options.
