The iPhone 6 Plus, released in September 2014, was Apple’s first large-screen “phablet” offering, featuring a 5.5-inch Retina HD display with a 1920×1080 pixel resolution and 401 ppi
. It was powered by the 64-bit dual-core Apple A8 chip and 1GB of RAM, running on iOS 8. Key features included an 8-megapixel iSight rear camera that was notable for the addition of optical image stabilization (OIS), a feature exclusive to the Plus model at the time, and the ability to record 1080p HD video at 60 fps and slow-motion video at 240 fps. It supported Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, and NFC for Apple Pay, and offered longer battery life than the smaller iPhone 6. Storage options were 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB.
