Description
The iPhone X, released in November 2017, featured a radical redesign with a
5.8-inch, all-screen Super Retina OLED display (2436×1125 pixels) that eliminated the traditional home button. The key innovation was the replacement of Touch ID with Face ID, an advanced facial recognition system using a TrueDepth camera housed in a “notch” at the top of the display, which also enabled animated emojis (Animoji). The device was powered by the hexa-core Apple A11 Bionic chip with a Neural Engine and 3GB of RAM. It included an upgraded dual 12-megapixel rear camera system, both with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and capable of 4K video recording, a 7-megapixel front camera, IP67 water resistance, a glass back for wireless charging, and navigated primarily through new gesture controls.
