The iPhone 7 Plus, released in September 2016, was Apple’s large-format flagship featuring a 5.5-inch Retina HD display (1920×1080 pixels) and a
water and dust resistant IP67-rated chassis. Its defining feature was the introduction of the innovative dual 12-megapixel rear camera system which included both a wide-angle lens with OIS and a telephoto lens, enabling 2x optical zoom and the software-enabled “Portrait Mode” depth effect. The device was powered by the quad-core Apple A10 Fusion chip with 3GB of RAM and included stereo speakers, a pressure-sensitive solid-state home button with Taptic Engine, and the controversial removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack. It was available with up to 256GB of storage and launched with iOS 10.
